One of the biggest complaints and annoyances I hear from people who copy DVD movies is that the copied DVD movie doesn’t play well. It is either choppy; the video and audio drops out; the quality is poor; or that it doesn’t play at all.
It is very easy to blame the DVD copy application one uses. It could be. However, you you are using a top-of- the-line DVD movie copy application such as 1Click DVD Copy, DVD Cloner, or DVD neXt COPY and they all produce the same discrepancy, odds are the DVD copy application is not the culprit; your problem lies elsewhere.
Your problem could be with obsolete hardware installed in your PC such as an old DVD burner. Perhaps, you are using an older PC that does not have enough processing power or memory.
Maybe you are using your laptops DVD burner to copy DVDs. This is never a good idea. If you must use your laptop to copy DVDs, I highly recommend that you purchase an external DVD burner that you can plug into your USB or firewire port.
If you have a newer PC and still get bad copies, your most likely candidate for bad DVD copies is the blank DVD media brand that you are using.
Not all DVD media are the same. In fact, blank DVD media is rated under four classes: Class 1 (the best) down to Class 4 (the worst).
If you are going to be making copies of DVD movies purchase blank DVD media within the Class 1 and Class 2 categories.
Purchasing cheap DVD media will only cause you wasted time and frustration.

Great article. This explains why I was experiencing playback problems with my copies. Brand name does matter. Thank you.
