Here is a sweet application that allows you to convert FLV (Flash Video Format) files, such as the ones you download from YouTube, Google Video, Yahoo! Video, metacafe, Reuters.com, and many others to AVI, MPEG, MP4, 3GP, WMV and MP3. Not only that, it can convert any of the forementioned files into FLV.
The application is called DVD DETECTIVE’S FLV CONVERTER.
It will also let you import folders containing multple video files and you can bulk process them!
Why would anyone want such an application?
Well, If you produce or edit videos in Camtasia or the Windows Movie Maker, they only accept certain formats.
For example, the Windows Movie Maker only accepts asf, .avi, .wmv, MPEG1, .mpeg, .mpg, .m1v, .mp2. So you can use DVD Detective FLV Converter to download videos from YouTube or Google Video (which are in FLV fornat) and then convert them to AVI so that you can edit them in the Windows Movie Maker.
If you use the High-End product called Camtasia, you can only edit a video while it is in AVI format. So, if you had an FLV file, you could use DVD Detective’s FLV Converter to convert it to AVI, edit the video in Camtasia and save it MOV file, for example, to be uploaded to YouTube or Google Video.
You can download a TRIAL VERSION DVD DETECTIVE’S FLV CONVERTER HERE and you can use it FULLY 20 Times!
Here is a video showing it in action.
Enjoy!
